Location Reminders (Geofencing)

Location reminders connect tasks with real places. First you create a place, then you attach it to a task trigger for arrival or departure.

How to set up location reminders

1

Create a place

Open the “Places” area or the place settings, create a new place, and save its address, map position, and radius.

2

Link the place to a task

Now open the matching task and add a location trigger. Select the saved place and decide whether the reminder should fire on arrival, departure, or both.

3

Confirm permissions and save

Allow location and notifications in the operating system and save the task. After that, CheckNotes waits for the real geofence event and only reminds you at the right place.

Permissions you need

  • Location permission and notifications must both be allowed.
  • Depending on the device, precise location or a broader location permission can improve reliability.
  • The reminder does not fire immediately when you save it, but only when the real geofence event happens.

For reliable geofencing reminders

Create places cleanly first so you can reuse them across multiple tasks later.

Choose a realistic radius so the reminder does not trigger too early or too late.

Location reminders are especially useful for supermarkets, offices, schools, and recurring errands.
